I have to admit that this one has me stumped. I was taking some railroad pictures a few days ago and this particular green car came rolling at the end of the train. The train was moving rather slowly and I didn't recognize it so I snapped a photo of it.
Later, when I got home, I enlarged it digitally and still couldn't see any telltale signs of what the car was. I looked for strange markings and/or unusual road names or road numbers. I could find nothing. The one thing I did notice was that the top appears to be covered with a removable tarp. Other than that, I couldn't find anything.
But I've drawn a conclusion which may very well be wrong... I think it might be a trash car. It "looks" like it could be but there are a few things that still make me wonder. A lot of trash today is shipped in smaller containers that stack on flat cars. Finally, if this were a trash car, it is pretty much out of character as most all of them that I've seen tend to travel in blocks or even as small unit trains.
So there you have it; my latest mystery. If you can help me figure it out, you will have answered my question; what is it?
