As part of their Genesis Series, Athearn has just announced that they will be producing a GP9 in Nickel Plate colors. The loco will be offered in three different variations including one set up for use in passenger service as the older PA1s were retired at the end of passenger service. The engine will come with a DCC decoder; sound is an additional option.
