Well it’s hard to believe but it’s been a whole year that we’ve been blogging here at The Courier Virtual Village.
It’s been a lot of fun writing about local sports topics, breaking news now and again and interacting with everyone who visits us. We’ve made 522 posts, 1,172 responses and nearly 220,000 page views since we went live at this time last year.
What I like about blogging is it gives us a chance to give you things you won’t get anywhere else. From live updates on local football games, to league standings and stats, prep wrestling results and other little tidbits of info we get from coaches, athletes and fans. Let’s face it, we don’t have the staff or space in the newspaper to publish all of the BVC stats for instance. But we can put up the entire stats file here and you can download it for your very own.
We’ve also learned that nothing gets the masses fired up more than some good ol’ fashioned L-B talk.
Any suggestions to make this a better site are certainly welcome. Hopefully in the next year we’ll have more multimedia links to slideshows, videos and podcasts.
Just to promote some of our bloggin’ brethren check out some of the other blogs the Courier has to offer. Oh and we’re always on the lookout for new blogs to add to the Virtual Village. If you have something to say contact online editor Rebecca Conklin.
