Just how far do you have to fling to be considered for this blog?
Not very far at all.
If you found yourself in some little village in a neighboring county buying handmade crafts, or stumbled upon the best Mom & Pop diner just up the highway, we'd enjoy hearing about it.
Of course, if you do go far, like on a cruise of Mediterranean islands or a train trip through the Siberian wilderness, that would be a wonderful story to share.
Please tell us specific details about the sights, sounds and tastes of your trips. We know the Coliseum is in Rome -- how did you experience it? We'll know you loved your trip, but tell us why we should too.
Shorter story submissions will be preferable, although feel free to send whatever write-ups you can. Photos should be clear, focused and original. Please provide details of where/when the photo was taken, and identify anyone in the picture.
Feel free to comment on travel stories posted here, although original submissions will be accepted from residents within The Courier newspaper circulation area: Hancock and Putnam county, western Wyandot County, and neighboring edges of Henry, Wood, Seneca, Hardin and Allen counties in Ohio.
Send stories and photos to online editor Rebecca Conklin at rebeccaconklin@thecourier.com for consideration.
Dear Findlay people, I have been away from Findlay for about 10 years now, but I lived in Findlay for 20 years and loved it. After Kodak closed, everything changed. I miss my friends and the old Oiler Pub! I live in Raleigh NC now and love it even more! I am so grateful to be able to see The Courier online and keep up with the happenings in Ohio.
Thank you,
Elizabeth Taylor

Dear The Courier,
Hi, my name is John Kitzmiller. I am not from Ohio, I am from Michigan. When I was home in July, I met Ashley Hughes from Findlay. Currently, I am in Iraq serving my last year with the Army. I will be honorably discharged in June of 08. All I care about is getting back to her safely. She brings so much to my life. I love her with all my heart. She gives me the motivation to do anything I put my mind to. I have endured alot since I have been here. We get attacks on the base some of the time. A mortar hit acouple months ago and I was about 75 yards away from it. The ground shook as I was trying to run to shelter. Over here, it smells like dust all the time and when you come home, you have sand in your lungs from being over here. Its not an enjoyable experience. But, I am proud to serve my country and try to protect all that we hold dear back home. Ashley, if you read this: I can't wait to get back home to you. You are the love of my life. And I want all to know how much I LOVE AND CARE ABOUT YOU. I love you Ashley.
