A Safe and New Blessing in the New Year --perhaps THIS will be the YEAR all people really get bac to their roots and know what really counts in this world--after the High-pay-job ends /people loose homes they worked overtime for /cars of luxury to "SHOW" and impress others / people will come back to putting FAMILY first .Lets pray for ALL those AMERICANS who are "providing"for the upkeep of other people in other countries WHILE at home your neighbor dies because he can't afford heat. AMERICA lets make a DIFFERENCE at "HOME FIRST"others second--BLESS YOU ALL reggie

Wishing everyone a better year in 2009. For the past few years, I would go out to eat on New Year's Eve and then return home. I have never experienced a pleasant time during this holiday. However, this year I decided I would stop being a fuddy duddy stay at home. I went to the American Legion and had a great time. The entertainment was a group called ABS. They are absolutely hilarious and I had a wonderful time. I even got a scarf from "Elvis". Fantastic. Connie

My New Year resolution is to buy union, local or USA made products. Also hope to buy a new car from one of the big three.

"THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK"

As you bring 2008 to a close, spend some time in the quiet giving thanks for all that took place. A gentle reminder is to leave behind all that does not add to your joy and fulfillment. One of your twelve powers is faith and by trusting, you will be led through all circumstances to begin the new year.

Tomorrow as you awaken, you will step into new beginnings of your life. It has been said, when one door closes, another opens. The year 2008 is closing and 2009 is opening for greater things in your life.

You dwell in the Mystery of the great unknown as all of life is a mystery. God is your mirror of silence in which all creation is reflected. You are the spirit forever unfolding. God is blessing you for a year filled with love, grace, peace and joy.

Our resolution for 2009 is to have more contact with our good friends back in Arcadia, Dave and Kay Noel and Dave and Terry George.........so missed and so far away in a life that is too short!!

This year, my husband and I will welcome the New Year celebrating with the teenage youth group at Findlay First Church of the Nazarene. However, back on New Year's Eve 1999, I was laid up on the couch with an ankle that was mending from orthopedic surgery...it was my freshman year of high school and I felt like a big gimpy loser spending New Year's with my parents...devestating, to be sure... :)

You must eat sauerkraut on New Year's Eve.....to be heathly, wealthy and wise throughout the new year.

I'll be welcoming 2009 home safe with my dog. I have pork and kraut. Watching old movies. If I don't fall asleep before midnight.

Norm

The welcoming in of 2009 will be done in our home. But being that we just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on Dec 24th that putts us in the old farts category.
We have a couple coming in for sea food dinner of King Crab legs and my favorite of frog legs. These frog legs are small not the size of the ones we caught along Eagle Creek years ago when we lived in Findlay. The frog legs that are in the markets are from Southeast Asia.
Back to the table we dip the crab and frog legs in butter brine with a hint of garlic.
At 7pm we will go to Unity Church of Sedona for a burning bowl ceremony. They have a prayer and you write on a piece of paper what you would like to forget about in your past life. The ushers will lead the congregation row by row to the alter where you place your list in the bowl with a fire. A real nice time!!!!!!
When we return home a bottle of sparkle wine will be uncorked----after you can see the bottom it is time for bed----about 11:00 pm---good night
And a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
