For what it's worth, Helen Thomas left UPI when the Unification Church bought it.

Thanks for that update. That might explain why none of the news feeds I saw had UPI listed alongside her name.

I had to laugh when I read the "Reagan-esque" comment considering President Obama clearly stated that he believes only the government can get us out of this funk while Reagan clearly stated that the government was usually the problem; not the solution.

President Obama's press conference showed that he is trying to change the image of U.S. government. He is attempting the bring the role of president into a more modern state. He is listening to what people's needs are and doing his best to oblige. To me however, it is about creating jobs and opportunities for americans. People need stability and reassurance that thinks are going to be fine. Everyone will not always agree with the plan, but at least Obama is trying make a difference.

I believe in President Obama. I believe he will be able to get us out of this hole and we can prosper once again. However, I don't think it is going to be anytime soon. I think by the time his term is up is when we can look back and see how far we've came. Right now, it is about belief and patience.

For all it is worth, I am so glad Obama was elected president. He may not be into the swing of things yet but lets hope he keeps his promises. He is going to be a much better president than if McCain was elected, no offense to the Republicans. I can not wait till he gets started on all the things he promised. Hopefully he follows through!

I am glad that Obama was elected president. It is only faith and working together that can get us out of this rut.. We cannot expect one man to fix the economy and all the other things that are messed up in America..I believe everyone has a choice to pitch in and do their best to help with anything they can

Call me greedy, but I'm glad Obama got elected, due to the fact that he was the right man for me. He is helping pave the way with which I can pay for schooling. Sorry, Repubs. but I am glad that we got Obama in the office. Here's to hope.
