Haunted Houses, Family Fun & More for 2008

LITTLE BOO AT THE ZOO
Oct. 23 & 24, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

A Halloween celebration at the Toledo Zoo for your little ones who are not yet in school and may be too young to enjoy the zoo's Pumpkin Path. Trick-or-treating and plenty of hands-on activities. There is an additional charge for all little ghosts and goblins that participate. Members who trick-or-treat: $8; Non-members who trick-or-treat: $10 (price includes admission). PUMPKIN PATH
Oct. 25 & 26, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This safe alternative to trick-or-treating at the Toledo Zoo offers candy stations, Halloween crafts and activities, live magic shows and much more! There is a charge for all visitors - members & non-members - who trick-or-treat. Members who trick-or-treat: $4; Non-members who trick-or-treat: $10 (price includes admission). PIRATE PARTY
Oct. 25, 2 p.m.

Ahoy mateys! Findlay Village Mall will be hosting a Pirate Party for kids of all ages on Oct. 25th at 2pm.  The Pirate Party will include storytime, snacks, crafts, and prizes.  Plus, every pirate will go home with a bag of pirate loot!  Cost is $2.50 per person and all children must be accompanied by an adult.  Pre-Registration is required and space is limited to the first 100 scallywags.  More details available at www.shopfindlayvillagemall.com.

TRAIN OF TERROR
Through Oct. 28
Visitors will take a frightening night-time quarter-scale steam train ride past an eerie forest and graveyard. Those that survive the ride will then try to find their way through the twists and turns inside a darkened haunted engine house. The attraction is not intended for young children. Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation, Inc. will host the event 8-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights through Oct. 28. Location: 11600 County Road 99, Findlay, just west of Findlay Ford; Cost: $5. FEAR FACTORY
Through Nov. 1

Proceeds of Fear Factory go to the Make a Wish Foundation of Northwest Ohio. Location: 206 Pine Ave., off Crystal Avenue near Sausser Steel. Hours: Fridays and Saturdays, 7 p.m. to midnight, and Sundays, 7-10 p.m.; Cost: $9 Fridays and Saturdays, $7 Sundays. Information: www.thefearfactory.net.

FOSTORIA HAUNTED HOUSE
Through Oct. 31

The ghouls and ghosts will be out at Fostoria’s only haunted house, located at 126 E. Lytle St. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children ages 6-10 and free for children age 5 below. The haunted house will be open 7:30 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays and 7:30-10 p.m. Sundays through October.

PUTNAM COUNTY HAUNTED CORNFIELD
Through Nov. 1

Putnam County Haunted Cornfield is open Fridays and Saturdays, 7:30-11 p.m.; Sundays, 7:30-9 p.m. through Nov. 1. Closed Sept. 28. Location: 13360 Road O, Ottawa. Cost: $8 for the cornfield and barn, $5 for Freaky Fred’s and $10 for both attractions. Information: 419-538-6333 or www.pchaunt.com

SUTER’S CORN MAZE
Weekends through Nov. 2

Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturdays and 1-8 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $6 for adults and $4.50 for students. Children younger than 5 are free with a paying adult. Hay rides are available for $2. LEADERS FAMILY FARM & SCREAM ACRES
Through Nov. 2

Leaders Family Farm in Napoleon offers a seven-acre Sam Hornish Jr. corn maze, a corn cannon range, karaoke stage, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, a moo-mobile for children, slides, straw tunnels, and a young children’s area. The Scream Acres Haunted Attraction features a haunted cornfield maze, refreshments and a "scare cam" that roams the field. Concessions available. HALLOWEEKENDS

Halloweekends at Cedar Point haunts Sandusky weekends through Nov. 2, dark through midnight. The event includes themed walk-through attractions, a vampire-filled haunted house, funhouse and hay bale maze for children, live shows and dining. Prices vary. HALLOWEEN HAUNT
Through Nov. 1

Halloween Haunt at Kings Island promises to terrify any visitors every Friday and Saturday evening from dark until 1 a.m. through Nov. 1. The event includes 8 scary mazes, 3 fear zones, a musical monster revue and more hair-raising fun. May be too intense/graphic for young children; parental discretion advised. HOWL-O-FEST

Howl-O-Fest at Kings Island is sure to keep the little ones entertained as the area's biggest kids' halloween party kicks into gear! HAROLD’S HAUNTED CORN FIELD AND 3D HOUSE OF SCREAMS

Harold’s Haunted Corn Field and 3D House of Screams, between Westminster and Waynesfield, features two haunted houses and a haunted cornfield. CHAINSAW CREEK
Through Nov. 1

Chainsaw Creek is located in the Westfield Franklin Park Mall parking lot in Toledo and features 4 haunted houses including Carnevil, County Morgue, Haunted Prison and The Black Swamp. Admission is $10 per house or $20 for all 4. Open dark until 11 p.m. (later if lines permit) Thursday through Sunday through Oct. 19; every night Oct. 23 through Nov. 1. TERROR TOWN
Through Nov. 1

Terror Town is located at the Lucas County Fairgrounds in Maumee and features 4 haunted houses including House of the Dead, The Slaughterhouse: Night Shift, The Beast and Freak Show and includes a 13-hole miniature golf course. Admission is $11 for House of the Dead or $20 for all 4; VIP Speedpasses are $25; Mini golf is $1.00.
