Just hold on loosely/And don't let go - 38 Special
Was this a joke? A prank?
A friend of a friend recently posted on her Facebook page that she had lost her pet python.
That's right. A pet python.
Now, I don't want to interject my personal fears into this topic, but this caught me off guard.
The anguished post stated: Our python got out of her cage. She's about six feet long. She is a pet and very tame. She'll come up to up to you.
Well, sure.
Why be afraid of a six-foot python slithering up to you? Isn't the normal reaction: "AWW. Are you lost, girl? Do you need me to help you find your way home?"
Questions abound. Like how can a python unlock its cage and escape?
And just how can you tell that a python is tame? Does she carry a favorite chew toy with her? Ready to play fetch?
This alarming Facebook notice came with a photo of the missing python, as if you could carry this photo with you to ascertain the identity of any python you would might come across.
